Today marks the 3 month anniversary of the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. Music therapist Nami Yoshihara had some staggering statistics: 15,405 people are confirmed dead, 8,095 are missing, and 90,109 are in evacuation shelters. There’s so much more work to do in Japan.

Yuji Igari has been posting some amazing updates of the activities at Igari MTRC. With the donations and purchases from all the fundraising activities, Yuji has been able to resume providing music therapy services to individuals with developmental disabilities and the elderly. When Stephanie’s son saw a picture of Japan, he worried about the people there and how they would live. He wanted to do something to help. This is the amazing design that Mason and Stephanie came up with. He drew a person with helping hands and she put the red circle in the hands as a symbol of Japan’s flag. She also added the big smile since it makes them happy to help others.
